Life Agents and/or Accident and Health or Sickness Agents Continuing Education Requirements:

For Life Agents and/or Accident and Health or Sickness Agents, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.  

•  Of those 24 hours, at least three hours of ethics continuing education, with a one-hour anti-fraud training component, must be completed every license term. 

• If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of annuities, they must take a 2025 Eight-Hour Annuity specific course during their two-year term. After the inital eight-hour course has been satisfied, the licensee must take a Four-Hour Annuity Training course during each two-year term.

• If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of long-term care (LTC) insurance, they must also take a 8-hour specific LTC course during each two-year term.

• *NEW 2025 REQUIREMENT: For life agents licensed on or after January 1, 2024, who engage in the sale of specified life insurance policies on or after January 1, 2025, will be required to complete a four-hour Life Insurance Policies training specific course before soliticition of those products.

• *NEW 2025 REQUIREMENT: For life agents licensed on or after January 1, 2025, who sell variable life insurance policies, will be required to to complete a two-hour Variable Life Insurance Policies specific course, before each renewal.

• *NEW 2025 REQUIREMENT: For life agents who hold a life insurance line of authority prior to January 1, 2025, and who will continue to sell annuities must complete a 2025 Annuity Four-Hour Training specific course prior to each license renewal. If the life agent’s license renewal is after July 1, 2025, the license agent must complete a 2025 Annuity Four-Hour Training specific course prior to their expiration date.

  • Life agents who are licensed on or after January 1, 2025, must take the initial eight-hour annuity training course requirement prior to the solicitation of annuities. They must also complete the 2025 Four-Hour Annuity Training prior to each license renewal.
    
    

Property Agents & Casualty Agents Continuing Education Requirements:

For Property Agents and Casualty Agents, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.  

• Of those 24 hours, at least three hours of ethics continuing education, with a one-hour anti-fraud training component, must be completed every license term. 

• If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of homeowners insurance, they must also take the 3 hour Homeowners Insurance Valuation Course once to fulfill their training requirement.

For Dual License Holders:

For Property Agents (Property Agents and/or Casualty Agents) and Life Agents (Life Agents and/or Accident and Health or Sickness Agents) with dual license holders, the CE requirement goes to the individual, not to each license held. The CE requirement can be met by taking courses approved for either license type.

How to Enroll in Our Correspondence/Home Study CE Program

All our courses are offered through non-contact/correspondence study. You can either register over the phone, in person or through email/fax. After you have registered, you will pick up a textbook/study materials or in the case of phone/email/fax orders, the textbooks can be mailed or emailed to you in a pdf format. You will then be required to wait a 24-hour period to study the materials before getting access to the final exam. After the 24-hour study period has passed, you can schedule an appointment to take the final exam at the school or you can have the exam mailed to you, for an additional $5 charge. The final exam is administered as a paper and pencil exam, so there is not an online exam option at this time.

For first time students who would like to register through email or fax, please call us first to go over our course program and before completing the credit card authorization form.

Your enrollment fee covers one year of registration, which means you will have to complete the course in a mandatory period of at least 24-hours or within a year. The fee is non-refundable once you have begun your studies or after a period of one month has lapsed from the original enrollment date. To successfully complete the course, you will be required to complete all required elements, as well as successfully complete a final examination of 70% or better. If you do not pass, you may retake the course with an alternate final examination, at no additional charge. There will be an additional $25 grading charge if you fail more than two times.

After successful completion of the course, we will send you a certificate of completion and report out your CE credits directly to the state. All you need to do is pay your renewal fee to the Department of Insurance!
