Life Only Agents (LO)  and/or Accident and Health (AH) Agents Continuing Education Requirements:

For Life Only Agents and/or Accident and Health Agents, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.

-        Of those 24 hours, at least three hours of ethics continuing education must be completed every license term. 

-        If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of annuities, they must take the 8 hour Annuities course during their two-year term. After the 8 hour course has been satisfied, the licensee must take the 4 hour Annuities Training course during each two-year term.

-        If the licensee solicits individuals for the sale of long-term care (LTC) insurance, they must also take the 8 hour LTC course during each two-year term.

Property Broker-Agents (PBA) & Casualty Broker-Agents (PCA) Continuing Education Requirements:

For Property Broker-Agents and Casualty Broker-Agents, a minimum of 24 approved credit hours is required every two-year renewal term.

-        Of those 24 hours, at least three hours of ethics continuing education must be completed every license term. 

-        If the license solicits individuals for the sale of homeowners insurance, they must also take the 3 hour Homeowners Insurance Valuation Course once to fulfill their training requirement.

For Dual License Holders:

For Property Broker-Agents (Property Broker-Agents and/or Casualty Broker-Agents) and Life Agents (Life Only Agents and/or Accident and Health Agents) with dual license holders, the CE requirement goes to the individual, not to each license held. The CE requirement can be met by taking courses approved for either license type.

How to Enroll in Our Correspondence/Home Study CE Program

All our courses are offered through non-contact correspondence/online study. You can either register over the phone, in person or on our website. After you have registered, you will pick up a textbook/study materials or in the case of phone orders, the textbooks can be mailed or emailed to you in a pdf format. You will then be required to wait a 24-hour period to study the materials before getting access to the final exam. After the 24-hour study period has passed, you can schedule an appointment to take the final exam at the school or you can have the exam mailed to you, for an additional charge. By registering in person or over the phone, you will be required to complete this exam as a paper and pencil exam, meaning you will not be allowed to take the exam online.

If registering online, you will be asked to create an account on our website. After you have registered, you will have immediate access to a pdf version of the textbook. Then you will have to wait a 24-hour study period before getting access to the final exam.

Your enrollment fee covers one year of registration, which means you will have to complete the course in a mandatory period of at least 24-hours or within a year. The fee is non-refundable once you have begun your studies or after a period of one month has lapsed from the original enrollment date. To successfully complete the course, you will be required to complete all required elements, as well as successfully complete a final examination of 70% or better. If you do not pass, you may retake the course with an alternate final examination, at no additional charge. There will be an additional $25 grading charge if you fail more than two times.

After successful completion of the course, we will send you a certificate of completion and report out your CE credits directly to the state. All you need to do is pay your renewal fee to the Department of Insurance!
